How to review a decorative panel sample

A sample is useful only when it represents the agreed material and finish. Record its reference and the requirements it demonstrates.

Look beyond colour

Review grain, texture, gloss, surface consistency and edge treatment. Natural veneer variation should be discussed separately from manufactured decor consistency.

Check fabrication needs

Discuss machining, edge banding and finishing with the fabricator. The substrate, adhesive and balancing layer all belong in the specification.

Keep a shared reference

Retain the approved reference and record acceptable variation. A photograph can support communication, but screen appearance is not a substitute for a physical finish reference.
