Mixed Container Loading: How to Buy Several Panel Products at Once

Most panel suppliers quote in full container quantities because loading a single product is simple. For importers building a catalogue, that constraint forces either a large capital commitment or a narrow product range.

## What mixed loading means

A mixed container combines several products — say three thicknesses of film faced plywood, two decorative plywood faces, and a quantity of melamine board — into one shipment. You get the freight efficiency of a full container without committing to a single specification.

## The practical constraints

Loading is a physical puzzle. Panel thicknesses, pallet weights and stack heights have to add up to a legal and safe load, and heavier material should sit low. Suppliers who do this well plan the load before production starts, not after.

## What to watch for

Make sure the loading plan is confirmed in writing with weights and stack positions. Ask for photographs of the loaded container before it leaves. And confirm that each product keeps its own identification, so your warehouse can receive it without opening every pallet.

## Documentation

A mixed load means multiple line items on the invoice and packing list. This is normal and correct — but check that the certificate of origin and phytosanitary documents cover every product in the container, including items from different production runs.

## Starting smaller

If you are opening a new market, start with a mixed container covering four or five products. You will learn which specifications actually sell in your market before you commit to full-container volumes of any single item.
